Well, folks, it’s that time of year! Get those party poppers ready, last-minute midnight plans in order and start planning those resolutions because a new year is just around the corner! And just in case you’re still stuck in 2019, there’s a load of new 2020 merchandise at Disneyland to get you in the spirit for a new decade.
Disneyland 2020 Apparel
To get the festivities started, let’s take a look at the clothes designed for the new year. There are both short sleeve and long sleeve shirt styles available, although short sleeves make up the majority of the collection.
This adult tee is a fun combination of character art with a tie-dye backdrop. I love the addition of the fireworks.
Here, we see the adult’s tank top. The broad shoulder straps make me think this is geared towards men but I bet women could pull it off, too.
This women’s graphic tee features a nice mixture of characters, Disneyland landmarks, and of course, the year 2020.
Let’s move on to the many 2020-themed sweatshirts. While fairly simple, I like the bold graphic on the back of this blue zippered hoodie.
There was even a traditional sweatshirt mixed in amongst the hoodies. And see that white kids’ hoodie next to it? It’s really cute.
Here’s a look at the front of the kids’ hoodie. It’s lined with a pattern, similar to the one on the women’s graphic tee, but with a pink background. The next two hoodies I’ll show you also have a similar hood lining, but with different background colors.
This is a kids’ pullover hoodie. It has a very simple design on the front but makes up for it with a stellar one on the back.
And this is an adult’s zippered hoodie.
I noticed a lot of embroidered elements on the clothing this time around. Personally, I don’t know if I like that change. Yes, screen-printed art can wear out in the wash if it is cheaply done but embroidered parts can be stiff and/or irritating. What do you prefer?
Disneyland 2020 Pins
If there aren’t pins for a special event, did it even happen at all? You can find all sorts of 2020 pins for all you collectors out there. There is a booster set of six pins, each with one the Fab Five (plus Chip n’ Dale) standing with the numbers 2020.
There are also individual pins available. This display is located Julius Katz & Sons on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure.
If you don’t have a pin lanyard yet, there is also a starter set that includes four pins and a lanyard.
Alternatively, there is a two-sided lanyard that you can purchase individually.
Round out your new pin/lanyard set with this lanyard pouch, which can hold your ticket, Annual Pass, or really any sort of card-shaped media.
Disneyland 2020 Merchandise Odds and Ends
I know a lot of us have been waiting for this one. Here is the 2020 Minnie Ear Headband, and it’s a sparkly one! The bow is covered in blue sequins while the ears are encrusted with multicolor sparkles. What do you think of this look? Will it be popular?
Have any photos you want to display for 2020? Well, this picture frame is the perfect place to show off your picture of choice. Figures of Mickey and Minnie stand in the foreground, guarding the picture from vandals.
This photo album is a less gargoyle-like option. The holofoil cover reminds me of shiny Pokemon cards.
There are two different hat styles, too. The first, seen in the top of the picture, focuses on Disneyland’s locales, while the other has Mickey and friends in the spotlight.
Disneyland added a towel to its 2020 merchandise offerings as well. In the bleak midwinter, it seems a little silly but spring and summer will be here before you know it. The temperature will be back up in the 90s soon enough . . . and with our crazy weather, that could happen even in the middle of winter.
This Mickey Mouse plush has 2020 all over the place: his hat, his shirt, the sole of his shoe. You certainly won’t forget what year you bought him. I am sure he will help you recall wonderful memories of those trips, too.
And when the partying on New Year’s Eve is all over, you can enjoy a lovely cup of coffee on New Year’s Day in this 2020 mug. The handle is comprised of the numbers “2020” with Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Sleeping Beauty Castle printed around the base.
