Who’s up for something sweet? How about salty? Or crunchy? Disneyland has a wide variety of tasty treats for those in the snacking mood. With so many options to choose from, how is a guest to decide what to eat? It’s one of the top asked questions about the park on forums. Thanks to our fans in the MiceChat Facebook Group, we’re counting down our top 10 favorite treats at the Disneyland Resort. Grab some napkins – this might get a bit messy, especially if your favorite treat didn’t make the list. . .

10. Popcorn (carts in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure)

If you can believe it, this ubiquitous Disney Park snack is actually vegan! At least, the traditional butter flavor is. But there are also several different flavors of popcorn available at the Resort. Over in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Kat Saka’s Kettle offers Chocolate Kettle Corn sprinkled with Red Salt as well as the Outpost Popcorn Mix, “a colorful blend of sweet and spicy flavors.” And Cars Land’s Cozy Cone Motel serves four flavored popcorns in addition to the butter variety: Dill Pickle, Buffalo Ranch, Sriracha, Pizza, and Garlic Parmesan.

9. Smoked Turkey Leg (carts in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure)

Many meat-loving guests swear by this snack. I am not certain how those turkey legs stay so juicy and have so much flavor, but if I had to guess, I would say the salty brine and a healthy dose of fat are involved. Either way, it’s an impressive portion (seriously, I can’t finish one by myself). But some folks take one look at this 750-calorie monster and just say, “Gross.” Are you on Team Turkey or not?

8. Mickey Pretzel (carts in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure)

Yes, you can get a regular ol’ pretzel-shaped pretzel, but why would you?! You are in Disneyland for goodness’ sake! This warm, salty snack pairs well with the cheese sauce sold separately at the pretzel carts. Dunk away, my friend!

7. Ronto Wrap (Ronto Roasters at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland)

Part of the lunch/dinner menu at Ronto Roasters, the hand food from a galaxy far, far away has two versions. There is the original version, the Ronto Wrap, that debuted with the opening of the land (a grilled pork sausage and tangy slaw with peppercorn sauce, all wrapped in a pita) plus a newer plant-based option, the “Ronto-less” Garden Wrap, that may actually be tastier than its predecessor. It has a plant-based sausage, spicy kimchi slaw, and sweet pickled cucumbers with a vegan-friendly gochujang spread in a pita. But that’s not all: there’s even a Ronto Morning Wrap version that adds scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese to the regular Ronto Wrap for those looking for a Star Wars morning snack. Which one do you prefer?

6. Mickey-Shaped Beignets (Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square)

These sugary puffs of dough may be a little messy to eat but they are so, so good. Want to know why the Mint Julep Bar always has such a long line, fried dough! The traditional powdered sugar is fantastic for that classic flavor but there is almost always a seasonal flavor option as well. For example, pumpkin spice beignets around Halloween, and the candy cane beignets offered at Christmas time.

5. Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num (Jack-Jack Cookie Num-Nums in Disney California Adventure’s Pixar Pier)

Who doesn’t love a cookie fresh out of the oven? ‘Cause that is just what you are getting with a Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num. These thick deep-dish cookies are so soft and filled with melty chocolate chips that you’ll need a fork to eat it. Wash it down with some cold milk, also sold at the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums stand, and you have a match made in heaven.

4. Dole Whip (Tiki Juice Bar and The Tropical Hideaway in  Disneyland’s Adventureland)

Down here in Southern California, many months of the year are at least decently warm and some are downright hot! There are few better ways to cool off than a refreshing cup of Dole Whip. The Tiki Juice Bar offers the traditional soft serve as well as a float with pineapple juice. Around the corner at The Tropical Hideaway, you can swirl it with orange or raspberry flavors, or even indulge in two different Loaded Whips, with toppings like Pocky sticks, coconut, and candied bacon(!) if you’re feeling extra.

3. Character Cake Pops (Candy Palace in Disneyland, Trolley Treats and Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff in Disney California Adventure, and Marceline’s Confectionery in Downtown Disney)

Sometimes you just want a bite of cake, not particularly a whole slice. For those moments, I recommend a cake pop. These sweets are designed after Mickey or Minnie but on occasion, you’ll see Buzz, Woody, or a seasonal character or decoration. The dense, moist cake balls are usually available in three flavors, chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet. However, at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, the cake pops that resemble the different emotions from Inside Out are more uniquely flavored like grape, for instance.

2. Corndog (Little Red Wagon in Disneyland and Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure)

This savory snack has just the right balance, with the sweet corn batter and savory hotdog filling. It’s hard to beat a freshly fried corndog and the ones at the Disneyland Resort are a hearty portion size as well. If you buy corndogs at the Little Red Wagon on Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A., I would suggest splurging on one of the premium dipping sauces: Bacon Ketchup, Pickle Ranch, or Honey Mustard. Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure’s Paradise Garden Park also offers a cheddar cheese stick, which is basically corndog with a stick of cheddar replacing the hot dog, as well as a hot-link corndog. Warning, that’s 375 calories and over 30% of the daily value for fat. . . but I’m under the impression that vacation calories don’t count . . . can I get a doctor to confirm that?!

1. Churros (carts in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure)

This fun snack is easy to eat while walking and served nice and hot. Churros have a light texture but are still sweet and flavorful thanks to the cinnamon sugar. They are just the right serving size for a snack, leaving you satisfied between rides and not overstuffed after a meal. Plus, the many seasonal variants of this beloved Disneyland treat keep us lining up at those churros carts over and over again.

Special Mention

Speaking of Churros . . . there’s a special type of churro toffee now available in some of the candy shops which is dipped in white chocolate and then rolled in cinnamon sugar. It’s a little slice of heaven . . . seek it out!
