Brrr! The temperatures are dropping, even in Southern California. Thankfully, if you find yourself unprepared at the Disneyland Resort, there are plenty of cold weather apparel items and accessories to choose from in the shops.
Let’s duck out of the elements and into the stores so we can get a look at some of the options available!
Cozy and Comfortable for the Young at Heart
Most of the cold weather apparel for adults at Disneyland consists of hoodies, but for the most part, if you’ve seen one, then you’ve seen them all. So, I’ll show you some of the fun jackets that are available at the Disneyland Resort.
This letterman’s jacket features ribbed cuffs and collar with an embroidered silhouette of Mickey. It also utilizes snap closures rather than a zipper.
Another option is this denim jacket. Although denim isn’t the warmest option compared to other items in this post, it’s perfect for layering. The small patch on the front has the words “Disneyland Resort” along with a retro-looking Mickey Mouse waving. The patch on the sleeve is a simple 1955, a nod to the Disneyland’s opening year. The back of the jacket has a large classic Mickey embroidered on it.
This jacket looks particularly warm. It is both quilted and lined with sherpa. As an added bonus, the hood has Mickey ears and there are Mickeys embroidered into the fabric. If you’re looking for a way to show off your love for the Mouse without compromising on warmth, this is the jacket for you!
Although I focused mostly on the jackets, I would be remiss not to mention one hoodie. This sherpa-lined hoodie is so comfy that it almost came home with me! It has a small classic Mickey Mouse embroidered on the upper left of the chest.
Cute and Snuggly Options for the Little Ones
This fuzzy Minnie Mouse hoodie has polka-dot textured fabric, just like Minnie would have wanted. The hood not only has her bow and ears but also her winking face. The powder pink suits the pice well.
This hooded, puffy vest pays homage to Mickey, not just with Mouse ears on top but also with the red pattern on the bottom edge, imitating Mickey’s iconic pants. This is another item that would be great for layering.
Accessories to Keep the Whole Family Warm
The best way to keep warm and stay fashionable is to accessorize! There are plenty of options available at the Disneyland Resort that are perfect for gifts, or if you’re feeling a little chilly at the parks and left your scarf at home.
This set riffs off of Mickey’s fashion choices with his gloves and a mouse-eared beanie. This set is made for kid-sized proportions but it would be fun to see gloves like these for adults.
Kids also get this fun Minnie-inspired beanie with earflaps.
Kids aren’t the only ones that can have some fun accessorizing. Adults have this as an option. This cranberry-colored beanie has pompom ears and sequins spelling out “Best Day Ever” around the band. There are also matching gloves, sold separately, which have fabric fingertips that work with smartphones. All the gloves (with the exception of the previously shown Mickey gloves) all have this feature.
If you want to go a less sparkly route, this beanie has classic Mickey Mouse patterned into the weave, similar to Intarsia knitting. The hat had a good stretch to it and I would wager it would be rather cozy.
Humphrey’s Service and Supplies, over in Disney California Adventure’s Grizzly Peak Airfield, offers some nice non-Disney character alternatives. For example, you can substitute mice with bears with this beanie and matching gloves, sold separately.
Bedazzle it up with this sparkly infinity scarf or shimmery gloves.
This most unassuming of the bunch at Humphrey’s are these brown knit gloves. A tad simple in comparison to the other options, but they’ll get the job done.
In the event of rain (and it seems to be doing that quite a bit lately), you may find yourself cursed with soaked socks. Avoid a soggy situation with these colorful replacements while promoting fire safety awareness (or a love of moose in long scarves, I guess).
