Disney Parks fans will not want to miss this year’s Parks and Resorts Pavilion at D23 Expo. Taking center stage this year is Epcot at Walt Disney World as it embarks on a massive transformation that will revitalize the park with a fresh look and new attractions.
Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek welcomed invited guests to the Disney Parks pavilion during a special preview event Thursday night.

Chapek made three significant announcements prior to letting guests tour the pavilion, promising more information for each coming later this weekend at the Disney Parks presentation on Sunday morning.

Coming to Walt Disney World, Moana will come to Epcot in the form of an all-new attraction called “The Journey of Water.” Meanwhile, the new Marvel-themed lands coming to Disney California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Paris will be officially named “Avengers Campus,” taking guests on Marvel-themed adventures set within campuses set up by the Avengers for training. And back at Walt Disney World, the new Star Wars-themed hotel will be called the “Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser” and will be a multi-day experience with the story and theme set aboard the Chandrila Star Line.

The Seas

The new “Journey of Water” attraction/pavilion starring Moana. Introducing an IP like Moana to Epcot would be a questionable choice in the past but in today’s IP-heavy theme park world, it’s not in the least bit surprising. Hopefully they work with the IP to make it complementary to Epcot.

As always, Walt Disney Imagineering’s Disney Parks pavilion is an absolute must-do for D23 Expo attendees. Unlike last year’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge centric pavilion, this year Expo attendees are treated to a pretty diverse sampling of projects underway at Disney’s parks around the world.
