Fans of Disneyland Paris’ Phantom Manor have been waiting since January 8th of 2018 for the attraction to reopen from an epic refurbishment. The park held a farewell party for the attraction when it closed for refurbishment, so it was expected that it would reopen with some changes.

The good news is that the ride has restored parts of the unused Vincent Price narration originally recorded for the attraction. They’ve also clarified the somewhat muddled story to make it more clear that the ride is about the bride (Melanie) and her suitor (the Phantom) who is leading her toward her doom.

With an overall look and scenes reminiscent of other versions of the Haunted Mansion, but with some distinct and significant difference from other versions of the ride, the new Phantom Manor has all the elements of a successful Disney attraction: great music, animatronics, long ride time, and beautiful effects.

Does it all come together in a satisfying way? Let us know in the comments below.

Our thanks to Max from DLPwelcome for this fantastic extreme low light video. This is a VERY difficult attraction to record.
