In fact, Disney just announced that Marvel Day at Sea will be reprised in 2020 along with Star Wars Day at Sea. The Marvel theme cruise will be available on nine Disney Magic Caribbean and Bahamian sailings from Miami, Florida, and the Star Wars theme cruise will be available on nine Disney Fantasy Caribbean voyages from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Adventures by Disney

Also come 2020, Adventures by Disney will be upping the ante on its river cruise offerings in partnership with AmaWaterways. There will be even more to see and do in Europe with 27 departures, as well as pre- or post-cruise Short Escape itineraries in Paris, Amsterdam and Budapest.

New Rhone River, Southern France

A fresh seven-night route will take the AmaCello to Lyon, Tournon, Avignon and Arles. The Provencal region will host kayaking, biking and even steam train and rail bike journeys. Culinary highlights will include truffle hunting and tasting, cheese and jam making and more tasting at an olive oil farm. Rhone Valley wines and chocolates will also be on the menu.

Also historical will be the stories of Palais des Papes as conveyed via Disney narrative, the Roman ruins of Lyon and Nimes, the villages of Gordes and Les Baux-de-Provence and Abbaye de Senanque’s medieval monks.

Of the six scheduled Rhone River cruises in 2020, three will be for families and three will be just for adults. Each will be hosted by up to six Disney-trained Adventure Guides.

New Short Escapes

Available as standalone trips or pre- or post-cruise extensions will be three Short Escape options in 2020 as well. All are two-night experiences led by two Adventure Guides.

The Paris Short Escape can be tacked onto Seine and Rhone sailings featuring, of course, the Eiffel Tower and also dinner therein. Also showcased will be a walking culinary tour and the famed Louvre Museum.

The Amsterdam Short Escape can be added to Rhine voyages and encompasses a painting workshop, the Van Gogh Museum, tile glazing at an earthenware factory, the Dutch windmills of Kinderdijk, a canal cruise and tastings in the Jordaan neighborhood.
