Several of our friends are involved with an upcoming event starring Bob Gurr, Rolly Crump and more, “An Evening With Disney Legends.”
Early next year, filmmaker Tony Cortese will be releasing a documentary focused on Walt Disney’s experience at the 1964 New York’s World’s Fair and how it shaped the course for future Disney Parks, and ultimately Disney’s innovative idea of EPCOT. This film will feature Disney legends such as Richard Sherman, Bob Gurr, and Rolly Crump, along with authors Jeff Barnes, and audio-animatronics pioneer Garner Holt to help recount the path that Walt took to achieve his dreams.
In anticipation of the film’s release, Cortese will be holding a special event, “An Evening with Disney Legends” to support the film’s production on October 13, 2018. This evening will include a panel discussion from Disney legends featured on the documentary, as well as discussing key points from the film from a panel discussion with special guests Bob Gurr, Rolly Crump, Sam Gennaway, and Garner Holt. This discussion will touch on major points from the film, and also provide insight into what it was like working on the creative team with Walt himself and personal notes about Walt’s leadership style. Additionally, Cortese will be screening an exclusive “sneak peek” of his documentary, and director Ken Kebow and former Disney imagineer Chris Crump (Rolly’s son) will be screening their short film, “The Whimsical Imagineer” about the life of Rolly Crump. The proceeds from this event will go toward the film’s production.

Rolly Crump, said he’d wanted to work for Disney ever since seeing “The Three Little Pigs” in 1933. “Walt gave different assignments to different people, but he didn’t tell us who else was working on it, which was kind of crazy,” he said. “He was in charge. … It was kind of like his playground. We were his little toys that he played with, which was great. We did whatever he asked.”
Tickets to “An Evening with Disney Legends” will include:

Tickets for “An Evening with Disney Legends” are available now on the “Walt Disney – Master of Dreamers” website, starting at $75 per person. VIP Meet & Greet tickets are also available and will allow you to sit at a table with one of the Disney Legends or authors. The event will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Highway 39 Event Center in Anaheim.
