There is no time of the year I enjoy more than Halloween. I’m drawn to the creativity, edge, weather, flavors, smells . . . and I can’t wait to see what the theme parks will do with it all. The Disneyland Resort has quite the lineup this year, as you can see in our Disneyland Halloween guide article from earlier in the week.  But one big thing we didn’t show you in that update was all the food and treats that the resort is offering. More than two dozen new items and lots of returning favorites. The chefs of Disneyland Resort are to be commended for scaring up some fantastic treats for you.

Please take a moment to watch the short video I shot with Disneyland chef Scott Daffron. You’ll learn a bit about their thought process and how they are trying to make things special for you this Halloween.

Now, let’s take a look at our top 10 Halloween treats at the Disneyland Resort. We’ll give you a chance to pick (or add) your favorite at the end and we’ll share the guide which lists all of the items and locations for unique holiday treats.

#10 – Carmel Apple Smoothie (Schmoozies – DCA)

This is our photographer Scott Attula’s favorite Halloween treat. This rich and creamy caramel and apple flavored drink is keeping him from being a calendar model. But he doesn’t care as long as he gets a few of these delicious treats every Halloween season. , Top 10 Disneyland Halloween Time Treats for 2018

#9 Spiced Ham Musubi (Bengal Barbecue – Disneyland

Yes, you read that correctly, and YES, you should try it! I first had SPAM Musubi in Hawaii years ago (at Disney’s Aulani) and fell in love. It’s sushi with canned meat. Salty and delicious. Disneyland takes a stab and this Polynesian classic and gives it a gourmet twist with Lemongrass Jasmine Rice, Pineapple Teriyaki Sauce glazed ham, all wrapped together in seaweed. The dish is served with a side of Pickled Daikon and Carrots and topped with Furikake Flakes. I can hear you saying “no way,” but give it a try, it’s really good.

#8 Spiced Bundt Cake (Jolly Holiday – Disneyland)

Moist and delicately spiced, this holiday cake was a delight. It has some stiff competition at Jolly Holiday with Halloween inspired cupcakes, cheesecake, muffins, macarons, and a very clever sweet potato hand pie. But I selected this one for being the one I most look forward to eating again.

#7 Vampire Mickey Sourdough (Pacific Wharf Cafe – DCA)

In the actual restaurant they had signs up calling this “Mickey Fang Sourdough” but the marketing materials all call it “Vampire Mickey.” He’s a vampire for sure. So this item makes the list because 1) Boudin Bakery makes great sourdough 2) this is one of those items which holds well enough to take home and/or give as a unique gift from the park. I also like it because it’s a treat which isn’t loaded with sugar . . . though there are plenty of delicious carbs.

#6 Macarons (Jolly Holiday – Disneyland & Cozy Cones – DCA)

I’m cheating on this item and bundling two delicious Macarons together. I didn’t want them to take up two spots on our list, but they both deserve mention. First up is my favorite of the two . . . this Mickey Mummy will make you happy in the tummy. Not only is he adorable, but the cookies and cream filling is delish.

The “Spoke-y” Cone Macaron is another winner. I liked it so much I had two. Chef Scott Daffron gave me a bite on camera (see the video above), and then I had to have another one on my own. So, so good! It has a candy corn flavor . . . which means it tastes like sugar. Cut out the middle man and send me a syringe of insulin. But almost worth the month of running on a treadmill I’m going to have to do before the MiceChat cruise in October!

As you might have guessed, I’m a big Macaron fan. . .  not to be confused with macaroons, which I don’t really care for.

#5 Spicy Pepper Jack Corn Dog (Corn Dog Castle – DCA)

, Top 10 Disneyland Halloween Time Treats for 2018

This Halloween dog is dipped in Corn Batter, drizzled with Blackberry Sauce and topped with Sweet Pineapple Salsa, Pickled Serranos and crushed Cheese Puffs. It’s a few steps up from your average corn dog and a must-try at least once. I shared mine, that’s certainly the way to go if you don’t want to feel bloated afterward. But devlishly good.

#4 Slow Burnin’ Mac and Cheese (Cozy Cone Motel – DCA)

I’ve got something fun for you in the #4 spot, a cone-coction which some of you are going to absolutely love. It’s got a bit of a kick with a red pepper cheese sauce and crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos on top (I’m guessing, they don’t tell you exactly what that delicious crunchy stuff is).  And it’s easy to eat on the go, as it’s served in a spook-y black bread cone. If you can handle a little spice, give it a try and let me know what you think. You might just make this your #1.

#3 Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup (Pacific Wharf Cafe – DCA)

WOW! This is a flavor sensation. Cheesy, creamy fulfilling goodness with the added notes of bacon. You don’t need to twist my arm, this is a winner. One of several at this location.

#2 Pumpkin Spice Beignets (Mint Julep Bar – Disneyland)

Just right. I enjoy the lightness of the regular beignets, but the pumpkin spice flavor takes this treat to a new level. It’s only slightly sweet and full of holiday flavor. This one sings to me: this is Halloween . . . this is Halloween . . . pumpkin spice brings the dead to life . . .

#1 Pumpkin Bread Pudding (Pacific Wharf Cafe – DCA)

More than a few of you must have already discovered this awesome confection . . . it’s VERY hard to get your hands on this unique bread pudding as it sells out quickly every day. This dish is aromatic, swimming in sauce, and tastes amazing. Ooey gooey carmelized pumpkin bread goodness. Get yourself a nice cup of coffee and settle in to enjoy the season with this funtastic treat. Kudos to the culinary team on this spooktacular item.

Honorable Mention

These aren’t treats, so I just couldn’t list them above, but they are food service related and I wanted to mention them. All three of these food location items will be highly collectible and popular . . . especially the Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket.  You’ll find Oogie at popcorn carts resort-wide. The pumpkin and Headless Horseman reusable straws are fun but also practical as Disney phases out disposable straws.

Mobile Order

Finally, Mobile Order has expanded at the resort to include most quick-service and counter-service locations (the beer cart in Pacific Wharf as well). You can even mobile order a Dole Whip from Adventureland!

Attached below are images of the Halloween Time treat guide. This is super helpful in finding the items you are most interested in. There’s a small symbol next to locations which offer mobile order.
