Dusty Sage here reporting live from the D23 Expo press announcement at the Walt Disney Studios. Disney has just announced their plans for the upcoming 2019 D23 Expo in Anaheim. Take a look below and keep following that this information is updated:
The most important thing to know is that this year’s expo is much the same format as last time around, but with some minor technology enhancements (RFID badges and enhanced ShowPass and StagePass for example) and tweaks to speed guests through the process.

D23 2019 Expo Announcements So Far:
- 6th expo at the Anaheim Convention Center
- Aug 23-25, 2019
- It’s all of Disney with Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars
- Parade of stars on the Expo floor allows you to see stars you may have missed in the presentations.
- Same setup for panels and presentations as last time around with some venues larger.
- Stage 23 will have 2,000 seats
- Stacked programming allows you to make choices and gives you alternatives in your presentations choices.
- Mousequerade costume contest returns.
- Ashley from Her Universe will be a judge along with Yvette Nicole Brown
- Design Challenge will be Haunted Mansion theme this year.
- Disney Archives exhibit will be back. Theme hasn’t been announced, but we are guessing Haunted Mansion and/or Mickey Mouse – both celebrating big anniversaries.
- Photo locations will return as they were very popular last time.
- Talent central will allow guests to meet with stars and get autographs
- Disney Legends Award Ceremony returns
- StorePass and StagePass will return with enhancements
- RFID badges this year may speed access to venues
- Gold member gifts
- Discounted tickets only for Gold Members this time around
- Gold early bird 3-Day ticket price is $177 – General Admission is $249
- Tickets on sale Aug 23rd
- Exclusive online merchandise that can be purchased during the ticketing process
- New video series “Know before the Expo” – tips, what to expect, breaking news in advance of the Expo
- The Charter Member Lounge will return.
