A massive and intricate puzzle is coming together at Galaxy’s Edge. We catch a glimpse of some of those pieces from river’s edge. Join us as we take a look at projects all over Disneyland. Stephenie Pashkowski also joins us today and brings us lovely photos from the park. And be sure to read all the way to the monster at the end of this update.

Let’s start with one of the smaller projects today.

Tomorrowland

Things are random again in Tomorrowland . . . at least they are at Star Tours, where the program is thankfully multi-destination once again.

The Pixar Shorts Film Festival has taken over the Tomorrowland Theater. The shorts are the same ones that played at DCA earlier in the summer (DCA is showing three different shorts).  The day was very hot, so we ducked inside. The theater is decked out with all sorts of 4D effects from the old Honey I Shrunk the Audience attraction (mist, wind, and motion base), they were used sparingly in the Shorts Festival. Odd that they added this so late in Pixar Fest. But we wouldn’t mind rotating shorts (Disney, classic, Pixar) until Disney finalizes their Tomorrowland redo plans.

SPONSORED BY: The Anaheim Hotel

, Disneyland Update – A Million Little Pieces

Your MiceChat visit was made possible in part by the support of the wonderful Anaheim Hotel. This mid-century marvel of a hotel is located directly across the street from Disneyland and has recently been completely remodeled with your comfort and an eye toward the luxury of the past in mind. The Anaheim Hotel has the largest pool in the area, a comfortable jet-set lounge, and one of the most popular (and best) pizza restaurants in Southern California.

Call reservations at 714-772-5900 and ask for the “MiceChat Rate.”

Adventureland Projects

Tiki Room

As of today, Tiki Room is closed for refurbishment for an unspecified period of time. The facility is attached to the larger project next door at the former Aladdin’s Oasis, a new food court called the Tropical Hideaway.  Stephenie takes us inside. Let’s all sing like the birdies sing . . .

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Construction

During our journey around the Rivers of America to capture Star Wars land construction, we saw an interesting piece of the project being lifted into place. Let us know if you think it’s for the Millennium Falcon.

I can’t begin to fathom the million little pieces that need to come together to build this giant new land.

You can’t help but notice the big crane from the river. Then suddenly it hoisted something up in the general area of the Millenium Falcon ride.

There’s a bit of wear and tear behind the castle that hasn’t been addressed in quite some time.

Aurora and Prince Phillip dance endlessly at the water fountains at the back of the castle. But there’s some damage

A small decorative disk is missing from the center of the plaque behind the statue.

The water fountains are discolored, which gives them an unclean look.

And while the castle roofs have been mostly fixed, the rooftops behind the castle still look rough.

The blue is in pretty good shape, though bend and dinged in places. But the brown and pink roof behind it is falling apart in places with loose shingles and rotting wood.
