The ‘Incredible Summer’ festivities continue at Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland through September 3rd. The area has been taken over by a Super’s Convention! Complete with banners, decorations, Super celebrities, some up and comping Supers, and cosplay super fans. It’s the Incredible’s Tomorrowland Expo.

My favorite part, for those of us that need those instagram pics, are four photo ops with Photopass. Here, you can enter the Incredible’s world for a cool action shot or a red carpet paparazzi treatment by Photopass.

From 2pm-7pm there’s various activities happening over at the stage area. The ‘Super Party Time’ stage show has four classic Incredibles stars and all day music to dance and party to. Most important to me, is the first ever appearance of Edna Mode!… but there’s also Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, and Frozone. The show lasts about an hour, and it’s similar to what is already there, with the exception of the Edna addition.

There’s also some new supers that are competing to be the next big thing. Who will have what it takes to fight alongside our favorites? The Tomorrowland Expo convention wouldn’t be complete without some super fans dressed up as their favorite supers. Ask them questions and they’re happy to share their encyclopedic knowledge of their favs.

For people with very young ones that can crawl, there’s an opportunity to enter your infant in Jack Jack’s Diaper Dash. This event is something inspired by activities you’d normally find on the Disney Cruise line. You’ll need to enter your baby by 10:30am in front of the Tomorrowland stage, and the race starts at noon in the same place.

In the shops and restaurants you’ll find several offerings. A Super Pretzel (in the shape of an eye-mask), which you can find under the Astro Orbiter’s Lunching pad. Auntie Gravity’s has some crepes, one of which is Edna Mode’s “No Capes, Just Crepes”, in Blackberry lavender and Nutella. Both are topped with white chocolate. In Cosmic Rays, they have Ms. Incredible’s Super Stretchy Bacon Burger. An Angus burger with mozzarella sticks, bacon, and garlic ranch sauce.

I didn’t try any of the foods due to my tender vegan feelings *wink*, but a few friends tried the burger and couldn’t finish them because they’re SO INCREDIBLY HUGE (Not really. But very filling).
At the shops you’ll find an entire section of Incredibles themed merchandise.

All in all, the theme is clever, but I wonder how much the average guest who stumbles across this gets the full idea. I like the concept, but maybe Disney could have encouraged people to be their own Super Fans and let some cosplayers compete as well. Perhaps a panel where guests can walk the runway while Edna judges your fashion choices for the day or offers you styling tips. Either way, I like that they’re giving some different energy to the Tomorrowland area and giving some changes to the regular themeing. Incredibles fits here pretty well.
What are your thoughts? Are these offerings enough to entice you into vacation mode? Should they permanent? Let me know in the comments below . . .
