We have bright and shiny new photos for you folks of all the action going on at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Guardians of the Galaxy has begun testing the drop towers. Midway Mania has joined the league of FASTPASS attractions. Food and Wine Festival continues. And some fancy new dresses have joined the lineup in Downtown Disney. Lots of great photos from Scott Attula below. And read on for your chance to win a 2 night stay at The Anaheim Hotel . . .
Tower of Broken Dreams
AND, the attraction is now in testing. Here’s a bit of video that long time MiceChat reader, Chris Bright, sent us from the park on Sunday:
Last week we asked you to vote in our survey to tell us if you like the exterior styling of the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction. With well over 1,000 votes, it’s clear that most folks aren’t thrilled with the new design.
Guardians Goods Galore
Mission Breakout isn’t the only thing coming soon, the sequel it’s based on, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is also coming. With a new movie, that means plenty of new merchandise to buy!
Midway Mania FASTPASS
The new FastPass distribution for Toy Story Midway Mania has begun! The area fits in nicely with the Paradise Pier theme.
The simple FASTPASS machines are located at water’s edge just across from the attraction.
The scanners on the machines have been turned on.
I’m not thrilled that the standby line has more than doubled because of the addition of FastPass, but because I got one, I got to ride Midway Mania for the first time in months.
Food and Wine
Time to unwind for a bit and enjoy the super popular Food and Wine Festival at DCA.
Love the retro inspired Mickey on these shirts . . .
This and That
There was just enough time to mosey over to Cars Land.
I found something strange in Radiator Springs Curios, some Christmas mugs!
Disneyland isn’t the only place you can do the Egg Hunt this year. California Adventure has one too. The photos below don’t give away too much of the hunt.
Mickey was inside.
The Animation Academy egg is tricky, but you’ll find it right out of frame.
Here’s one! Well, it’s near here at least.
Think Mission Breakout and you might find the egg near Pacific Wharf.
The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail eggs are a bit tricky due to their hints not having anything to do with their actual locations. The two boards below might help you find them.
Goofy likes to peek out of his outside hiding place.
Grizzly River Rapids has returned from refurbishment looking spectacular.
Downtown Disney
Disney Vault has some fancy new dresses.
Within hours of hitting the shelves, most sizes were sold out. While now the same quality of the Pinup Girl or Her Universe dresses, these seem to be a hit.
It’s still strange to walk through Downtown Disney and see the old House of Blues missing!
Over in Downtown Disney, the egg hunt was a bit easier. Most of the eggs were inside window displays, which made for a simpler hunt. This one might be easier for smaller children. And it’s great for folks without a pass to the parks!
Minnie Mouse doing her best Lion King impression.
Daisy was on display, as she should be.
Thumper was tricky in that you can’t really see him from outside; he’s covered up by a sign.
Dale looked a little wild west in this shop.
The Gallery egg is fairly easy to find when you walk in.
The Pin Traders egg is outside of the pin traders.
Woody is pretty easy to spot from outside rather than inside of his store.
The tricky people who set up the Downtown Disney hunt gave “Starbucks” as a hint, knowing full well that there are two Starbucks. This should give you a hint as to which one you should be looking at.
