It’s time for another Universal Studios Hollywood park update and we have plenty of news and pics for you to enjoy today. CityWalk projects are coming along with Dongpo Kitchen, Voodoo Donuts and the Cinemas all under construction. We get into the park and see the new Walking Dead attraction is finding its groove. We check out the magic of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and how it is handling the crowds with ease. We next head down to the lower lot to scope out the construction projects going on there. There’s a lot to see in this update. Lights. Cameras. Action!

CityWalk

CityWalk Cinemas
Meanwhile we see more major construction at the cinemas, with a full renovation and the addition of a lounge. The theaters remain open in the middle of all this.

The Ecto-1 car used in Sony’s new Ghostbusters film is parked out in front of the cinemas just in time for the release of the film. Dusty saw the film last night and proclaimed it fun and funny followup to the film he grew up with.

Margaritaville
Meanwhile, Margaritaville still hasn’t begun construction as the old bowling alley location sits dormant.

Dongpo Kitchen
With seating in place outside and lights strung up, Dongpo Kitchen is just about ready to open.

The Walking Dead
Inside the park The Walking Dead attraction is finding its groove. The attraction normally commands a 30 minute wait or longer. The energy inside is phenomenal, with the actors really giving it their all. There is some great work happening in here.

Even more set dressing and finishing touches have been added since the last time we went through.

It is so good to have a scary walk-through attraction here again. As we said before, the cast is phenomenal. Each scare is on point and makes this a thrilling experience. The sets are also fully dressed now and the effects are amazing. The Moonshine Cabin is brilliant and features the biggest wow moment in the entire attraction.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
We move on to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and find the place crawling with people. With Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey commanding 90 minute waits, the entire queue outside is now being used.
We also take the time to stroll around and soak in a few more details here and there.

One bit that doesn’t seem to be working out so well is the photo op at the Hogsmeade station. Inside is a lovely recreation of a cabin on the Hogwarts Express which is set up as a photo opportunity. The problem? Guests are not allowed to use their own cameras or cell phones to take pics here. Instead, Universal insists that they use their pic, complete with the snazzy effects, which is available for purchase. There is never a line here.

Let’s take a look at some of the details in the windows around Hogsmead.

Lower Lot Construction
Meanwhile, down on the lower lot, we see the project next to Transformers well underway. The project has wrapped around the backside of the Transformers show building, removing the old commissary stand backstage.

We also see the project in the backlot moving fast now. No official word from Universal on what this will be.

And finally we spy a boat being constructed at Falls Lake.

That wraps this Universal Studios Hollywood update. for full coverage of the progress on Halloween Horror Nights head over to HorrorBuzz.com and check out the HHN Tracker.
