This week we visit Star Wars in Tomorrowland, see previews for upcoming Star Wars Television and Game spinoffs and say goodbye to the Skyway Chalet.
But first…
Disneyland’s Flags At Half Staff
Our hearts go out to the victims, family and friends who suffered so much in Orlando this week.
Summertime Of The Force
The summer season is in full “Force” as Star Wars continues to dominate Tomorrowland. Perhaps they should change the name of this promotion to Season(S) of the Force since it started in winter and it’s now summer. We don’t expect it to end any time soon. What do you think folks? Should they just keep Seasons of the Force until the new Star Wars land opens?

Hot New Items Hit The Shelves
New merchandise is constantly arriving in the park. Here’s some new and new-to-me stuff I saw in the stores this week:
LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures
A new animated series, LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures debuts on Disney XD on June 20, 2016. The show takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and follows the story of a scavenger family named the Freemakers. The trailer was released this week.
If you’ve ever seen any of the LEGO: Star Wars material, you know it’s really entertaining. What’s interesting about this is it could have some backstory to the events in the upcoming Star Wars: Episodes 8 and 9. The Lucasfilm Story Group is supposed to be planting seeds in the novels, comics and television shows.
EA SW @ E3
The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is going on in Los Angeles this week and Star Wars is expected to have a big presence. EA has the license to produce Star Wars games and has enlisted the help of game designers DICE, Motive, Visceral, and Respawn. Together they are working on Galaxy of Heroes, along with new versions of Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Old Republic. The preview for the games are right here:
Also announced was a X-Wing Virtual Reality game for the Playstation VR coming out this fall. The reveal trailer doesn’t show much, but it has some similarities to Hyperspace Mountain.
Skyway Chalet Is Demolished
The last remnants of a Disneyland icon slipped away to Yesterland this week. The Skyway Chalet in Fantasyland was demolished as part of Star Wars Land Construction. It will be missed.

Star Wars Land Construction
Construction seems to be showing hints of building rather than tearing down.
From the Hungry Bear Restaurant, we can see some of the activity near Tom Sawyer’s Island.
And from the other side, we can see more of the work on the Island.
The interesting stuff is happening in the middle of the area starting right below the Chalet’s demolition. Markers are dotting the area and curious things are starting to take shape.
Could those wooden forms be the beginning of the what separates Star Wars Land from the Rivers Of America? Tune in next time…
That’s it for this week’s news. May the Force be with you!
