I’m going to be at E3 this week, so expect some gaming stories in the near future. I’m also going to be very, very tired, so expect many, many typos as well.
A Sparkly Surprise, Sunday!
So, this was posted on the MiceChat Sunday Meet-Up Facebook group Sunday:
I love surprises when they are good ones that involve me. I know, most people would say the opposite. Nope, love it. So, when Dusty Sage appeared looking really gorgeous (and slim, and agelessly young, what the actual HELL, Dusty?) in a Figment shirt,I was happy enough, but then he sprung these on me:

Sorry about the face. Still puffy from all of the steroids and I was trying not to cry. Still trying.
My very own crystal ear hat! And R2 too! Swoon, faint.
When the sun came out those things sparkled like CRAZY!
Dragon Trailer!
The teaser for Disney’s Pete’s Dragon debuted! To celebrate, star Bryce Dallas Howard went live on the Disney Facebook page yesterday afternoon to present an exclusive sneak peek. This morning, an all-new trailer debuts exclusively on Access Hollywood, which means it will be all over social media three minutes later.
Giving Forry A Kick!

FAMOUS MONSTERS AND AMERICAN GOTHIC PRESS TO KICKSTART ‘TALES FROM THE ACKERMANSION’ ANTHOLOGY AND RELEASE PARTY
John Carpenter, William F. Nolan, Richard Christian Matheson, and John 5 are among the artists contributing to a graphic anthology in honor of Famous Monsters founder Forrest J Ackerman’s 100th birthday.
Famous Monsters of Filmland, the world’s longest running genre magazine, and its comic book imprint American Gothic Press are preparing to honor their late founder’s centennial birthday by releasing a hardcover comic anthology at the opening Halloween gala of Alien Con™ in October.
FAMOUS MONSTERS PRESENTS: TALES FROM THE ACKERMANSION is a salute to Forrest J Ackerman, who was instrumental in fostering the careers of so many luminaries, including Ray Bradbury, Ray Harryhausen, Rick Baker, Stephen Spielberg, and many others. Ackerman was also known for enthusiastically encouraging creative pursuits such as conventions and cosplay.
Not only are comic books an integral part of Ackerman’s history and career, the medium allows a truly impressive roster of creators to honor him. Amongst the talent set to participate are filmmaker/composer John Carpenter, science fiction author William F. Nolan, writer Richard Christian Matheson, musician John 5, DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio, horror writer Joe R. Lansdale, and countless others, including Cullen Bunn, Ray Fawkes, and Buzz Dixon.
Famous Monsters and AGP will be launching a Kickstarter on June 15 to facilitate this once-in-a-century celebration at the first ever Alien Con™ in Silicon Valley on October 28, 2016. Alien Con, in partnership with HISTORY® and ANCIENT ALIENS™, is a celebration of all things science fact and science fiction in honor of the man who coined the term “Sci-Fi”.

If you didn’t read Famous Monsters at least sometime as a kid, you had a terrible childhood. Forry Ackerman was every seventies kid’s weird old uncle who told scary stories.

Exes and Texters on To Tell the Truth
Tracee Ellis Ross joins the panel. Anthony Anderson has more than just his mother to worry about when his co-star and TV wife from “black-ish” is part of the game. Guests include America’s fastest texter, Taylor Swift’s high school sweetheart and somebody who likes to think inside the box – a contortionist.
A similar show in the fifties and sixties was “What’s My Line” – blindfolded panelists had to guess the guest’s identity or occupation. Here’s my favorite one:

Elhoffer Design Redux: HamilGOWN
Hamilton took home 11 Tonys, second only to The Producers. You can take home these fab dresses:
What started as a desire to make a dress to wear to see Hamilton: An American Musical has snowballed into an entire collection by Catherine at Elhoffer Design. Inspired by the fantastic costume design of the Broadway show, the collection is a mix of tunic tops and full dresses. The Hamilgown collection features dresses inspired by the Continental Army’s Blue Coats, General George Washington, Angelica and Eliza Schuyler, the Marquis de Lafayette, Thomas Jefferson, Aaron Burr, and, of course, Alexander Hamilton himself. Followers of Elhoffer Design on Instagram are already familiar with the collection, as she’s been posting updates as she creates each piece, and has already been getting requests for more as well as commission inquires.
Expanding her geek fashion detailing, these pieces are more elaborate than any of her previous geek-inspired works with fabric-covered and metal buttons, cuffed sleeves, pocket flaps above side-seam pockets, epaulettes, lace detailing, and more. While some of the dresses may look like coats, it’s an optical illusion due to topstitching and asymmetrical patterning. The entire collection was handmade by Catherine at Elhoffer Design as a love letter to the musical that has changed the world.
For the photo shoot, Catherine partnered with Lauren Elisabeth Photography (http:// www.laurenelisabeth.net/) to recreate their own take on the photos and gifs that have flooded the internet. The models, all huge fans of the Broadway show, danced and sang along while photos were taken. While the budget may have been limited, the photos captured the love and obsession the women have for the show, and they hope that other fans will also love their gender-bending take on the founding fathers.
