The affable Adam Sanderson, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for the Walt Disney Company and head of D23, will soon be departing the company after 19 years of service to pursue new opportunities. Adam is very well liked by his coworkers and by Disney fans alike and will be deeply missed.

Lest the fan community start with conspiracy theories and talk of D23’s imminent demise, sources in the company assure us that everything is still on track for D23. The next magazine is about to be released, a full slate of events for 2016 are on the docket and the dates for the 2017 D23 Expo will soon be shared. D23 is in the lucky position of having an amazing and very talented team who will all work together to keep the ship sailing forward. It’s very much business as usual for Disney’s official fan club.

On a personal note, I’d like to wish Adam well as he moves on to his next gig. Adam was just one of those people who always makes you feel comfortable. I’m sure he’ll be well received wherever he goes and hope that our paths will cross again.  Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to seeing the D23 team in Chicago next week for Disney’s annual shareholder meeting and D23 tour of the Walt Disney Birthplace. Interesting things always spring forth from the shareholder meeting and I’m sure that this year will be no different.
