Dateline Disney World – Heavy Crowds and Fastpass Problems at Magic Kingdom

We return to the Magic Kingdom, where it was busy for President’s Day weekend. And big crowds bring big problems with them. Fastpass+ seems to struggle under holiday crowding. We’d love to hear your thoughts on how Disney should mitigate these issues.

There is a crane over the castle to repaint some of the golden spires.

We love the work that has been done where the exit bypass is.

You know it is busy when Tomorrowland Terrace is open for business.

Extended queue was in use for the Mad Tea Party.

Over at Sleepy Hollow, two of the very popular waffle sandwiches have been removed from the menu. Club Villain!, located at Sunset Showcase inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios has added additional reservations and extended the evil but fun experience into early March. You will be able to visit with four classic villains, all while hosted by the one and only Dr Facillier from The Princess and the Frog. Special New Orleans style food will be served along with desserts inspired by your favorite Disney Villains. The mini cupcakes, with Maleficent inspired horns, are a favorite! Themed Adult beverages will be offered along with beer, wine, and assorted soft drinks.
The Lion Guard are seeking honorary members at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. This quest, which officially opened last week, is inspired by Disney Junior’s animated adventure series “ The Lion Guard”. Young guests will be led on a park-wide search for all five Lion Guard Characters. With special attributes of each character on display, guests will become more familiar with the “requirements” of being a lion guard in the Pride Lands. A special induction ceremony takes place at Rafiki’s Planet Watch with special souvenirs and a photo opportunity with Rafiki himself!
The Disney Princess half marathon weekend is back at Walt Disney world from February 18-21. The most magical place on earth will be host to runners from around the globe. Special commemorative items will be available at the runDisney Health & fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Even young guests can participate with special runDisney kid races the entire weekend.
