Hello, and welcome to Dateline Universal Orlando! This week we’re looking at both parks and the many changes on the way. Let’s go!
Upon entering, you’ll notice security is no longer here. They are now closer to where you park and there are metal detectors just like all the other Orlando parks.Welcome to Universal Studios!
Construction on the Hello Kitty shop.Minion Mayhem closed for refurbishment.
Twister is being demolished and Fallon is everywhere.
Race Through New York opens in 2017.
The walls stretch all the way down to the end by where Rockit turns around.
Nice and refurbished facade here. This is why you come to the parks in January, no crowds!
Statue missing in New York.Beetlejuice has performed its final show, and now has Fast and Furious construction walls in front of it.
An interesting juxtaposition.
No visible movement at the old Disaster site.An overcast day in London. The new sweet shop has yet to open up.We like an empty Diagon Alley.
Time to catch a train to Scotland. No wait whatsoever.
We have just enough time to pop into Honeyduke’s for a treat. They now serve Butterbeer fudge! It doesn’t taste anything like the drink, but it is still good.
Butterbeer and Butterbeer fudge – the dinner of champions.Jurassic Park vehicle missing for refurbishment.Time for some Kong photos from Camp Jurassic. Looking awesome!
We’re loving all of the detail on the building here.
And the view from the ground.
Opening this year! (We can finally say that)
The spikes all have skulls on them.
Popeye and Me Ship the Olive both down for refurbishment. Not much movement on the Hulk. One or two pieces of the brake run have been reinstalled, and there are a few cherry pickers and cranes here, so expect to see more track going back up shortly. The old lockers for Hulk have been removed.Returning this year!Time to head out!
That does it for this week’s column. Are you excited about Kong and Hulk coming this summer, as well as a hotel? How about Fallon, Fast and Furious, and a water park the year after that? Let us know in the comments below!
