You might blink and miss it, but the first signs of the holidays have already popped up at Disneyland. Christmas lights are going up at “it’s a small world,” which is now closed to install its popular holiday overlay. Meanwhile, on Main Street, the China Closet is now fully stocked with holiday merchandise. Meanwhile, Main Street has new fall color with the return of the Flower Market and across the way, the Main Street Emporium has debuted its latest enchanted window. Over in Disney California Adventure, the bugs have taken a break to let The Good Dinosaur and his friends offer a sneak preview at the latest Pixar flick.

Welcome to Disneyland!
Halloween Time is still in full swing as we enter the second half of October. Soon, the pumpkins will make way for garland and Christmas lights but for now, the park is still scaring up some Halloween fun.

Over at Disney California Adventure…

Toys on Main Street
In Disneyland, the latest Enchanted Window on Main Street has been revealed.

The new window features a “Toy Story” theme and has the toys come to life in Andy’s room.

Mr. Potato Head rotates to reveal his better half

Woody moseys out next to Bo Peep

Bullseye watches everybody play from Andy’s bed

Of course, Andy comes along and the toys have to stop playing

Andy’s arms hang down from the top of the window with Buzz and Woody

Below, a video clip of the new Toy Story enchanted window
I’m a huge fan of the new series of enchanted windows Disneyland has been adding to Main Street this year. They’ve all been really clever and beautifully crafted with wonderful animation and special effects. While the Toy Story window lacks the “Wow!” moment that the other windows have with their rotating sets, the Toy Story window is still super charming and really nicely designed. Kudos to the team for another great addition to the enchanted window lineup. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Center Street in bloom
On the other side of Main Street, the Flower Market has returned again to Center Street. It seems like the recent short-lived returns of the Flower Market were layout and crowd flow tests, as this iteration of the Flower Market features an entry archway that required more permanent cement bases. Hopefully that means the Flower Market is here to stay, as it’s a delightful and super charming addition to Center Street, adding a lot of atmosphere and color to the Market House’s outdoor seating area. Hopefully the outdoor vending cart the butts up to the Flower Market’s entry arch can eventually be modified or removed to really let this area shine.

First signs of the Holidays
Not far from the new Flower Market, the China Closet on Main Street is now ready for the holidays and is fully stocked with Christmas merchandise.

There doesn’t appear to be too much new holiday merchandise this year but the popular retro line introduced last year has returned along with other favorite styles.

Lots of ornaments to choose from…

Merchandise isn’t the only glimpse at the holidays this week. Over at “it’s a small world” Christmas lights were already going up on the facade last week and starting today, the attraction is now closed to install its popular holiday overlay.

A last look at the classic version of the attraction for the 2015 season.

In Adventureland, the Jungle Cruise will close in early November to install its Jingle Cruise holiday overlay.

But you can get in the spirit now with the Jingle Cruise shirt, available across from the Jungle Cruise in the Adventureland Bazaar.

Refurbishment Round-up
A look at refurbishment projects underway in both parks…
In Tomorrowland, the new Star Wars Launch Bay continues to take shape in the Tomorrowland Expo Center (formerly Innoventions).
In addition to the star field paint job the lower level of the building is now sporting, text reading “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away” has been added.

“A long time ago…” in Tomorrowland…

The Tomorrowland Expo Center with Star Wars Launch Bay and MARVEL Super Hero HQ (now featuring Spider-Man) are set to open November 16.

Star Wars Launch Bay will be part of the larger Star Wars Season of the Force promotion, which will include a new Star Wars clip show in the Tomorrowland Theater, a new version of the Jedi Training Academy, Hyperspace Mountain, and a new scene in Star Tours.

In Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land, the new Luigi’s Rollin’ Roadsters attraction continues to take shape behind construction walls. The attraction is replacing the lackluster Luigi’s Flying Tires ride that opened with Cars Land in 2012.
While there’s not much to see from the guest perspective, it is worth noting that the “Flying” part of the Luigi’s Flying Tires signage in the windows has now been removed.

On Paradise Pier, the popular Cove Bar is getting expanded. The character meet-and-greet gazebo has been removed and the space will now become Cove Bar seating.
Nearby at Treasures in Paradise, portrait artists have taken over the area formerly occupied by the Duffy the Disney Bear meet-and-greet area.

It’s Tough to be a Good Dinosaur
Over in a bug’s land, “It’s Tough to be a Bug” is on hiatus while an extended sneak preview for Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” is presented.

The mural on the building has been given a Good Dinosaur overlay

The preview is about 10 minutes long, features in-theater special effects, and includes some previously unreleased scenes. The preview will be presented through December 13. The film hits theaters November 25.

This & That
Disneyland’s popcorn sponsorship with Orville Redenbacher’s is over and Pop Secret has taken over.

The Disneyland Hotel recently celebrated its 60th Anniversary. The Hotel has new Diamond Celebration accents to its sorcerer hat entryway.

And in the Hotel’s convention center corridor, great new historical displays show the hotel through its rich and unique history.

The wonderful huge floor-to-ceiling display case with vintage Disneyland memorabilia is still in place.
