If you haven’t been to Six Flags Magic Mountain yet this summer, NOW is the time to go. With SoCal schools back in session, the park is practically empty right now.

Full Throttle commanded a rigorous wait time of 15 minutes maximum.

With all of the local kids back to the institutional learning facilities you have the opportunity to have the run of the park.  You could literally shoot a cannon through sections of the park and not hit a single guest.  Yes, it’s that empty.

Okay, well, you might hit them if you shot a cannon.

Walk on status here too. But, if you wanted the front, that was a good 5 minutes.

Green Lantern actually had the longest wait time of anything in the park.  This was due to the slow loading time of this particular attraction.

A word of warning though.  It was sweltering Monday.  So, if you are planning to go, take sunscreen and keep it with you.  Get familiar with the locations in the park that offer shade or air conditioning.  Above all drink tons of water.

Batman and Robin advised seeking shade whenever possible.

Of course the biggest question is; What were the lines like for X2? It depends.  If you wanted to sit in the front it took one train.  If you just wanted to ride, well, you had your pick.  The X2 staff, despite the light crowds, were churning through the guests with two operating trains.

I can honestly say that this was one of the best times I had at the park in years.  It was a veritable coaster lovers paradise with nearly every single steel behemoth at your disposal.  I have never seen the park this empty and it was a dream.

The park ends daily operation for the season this week (it will only be open on weekends and holidays), so this is the last time this year that you can enjoy such breezy conditions.  While the park will be open on the weekends, it might be much more crowded. https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/plan-your-visit/park-operating-schedule

If you are a season pass holder to Magic Mountain you can buy one general admission ticket for a friend for 35% off.  Incidentally, Hurricane Harbor is also open all week from 10am-6pm.  Season pass holders are entitled to one discounted general admission ticket per month into Hurricane Harbor for $22.

This is a great time to play hooky from work and get out to the coaster kingdom of Six Flags Magic Mountain!
