It was a lovely week at Knotts Berry farm as crowds visited this wonderfully charming park. The summer ice show, Blockbuster Beagle continues to entertain and offers folks a place to chill out away from the heat outside.  In the meantime, Vertical Impact, the live stage show in Calico Square, is a fantastic nighttime spectacular. Today we share recent pics and local color from the farm along with more haunt news from HorrorBuzz.com

Ghost Town

As we stroll the original section of the park we see that the wonderful Citizens of Ghost Town are out in full force, entertaining and engaging the guests.

If you ever run into this lovely lady, ask her about the squirrel she is carrying.

Here we see a few citizens were playing a game of Texas Hold’em when we walked by.

We rarely get over to this end of the park so we went ahead and wandered down near Ghostrider.

There is a nice little spot in front of Ghostrider to grab a little snack from the bakery and sit by the fountain. Nice.

Let’s go check some more things out.  The park is looking beautiful as we roll into August towards the upcoming haunt season.

Yep. Deadwood Dick still has his real flowers on his grave.

The Haunt Museum

We decided to stop by the haunt museum and were a little bummed at what we saw.  The museum is a bit lacking at the moment. It’s needs a refresh.

Inside we see that the merchandise counter was removed and replaced with the writing desk that used to sit at the main entrance of the museum.

Worst of all, probably the least scary Haunt creation ever is still used as the centerpiece for this homage to haunt.

All of the exhibits are pushed to the permitter of the room.

Rumor was that this Haunt museum was on its last leg. It’s a bummer to see that it looks to be true.  We are seriously hoping that management sees fit to revitalize this important little year-round spot for haunt and haunt fans.  How about using this as a sort of Blue-Sky Celar type space for hints at the upcoming Haunt season, news and fun for Haunt fans.  After all, the event deserves the respect for keeping Knott’s going through some pretty tough years.  So, how about it?  How do YOU feel about this idea?

Knotts Scary Farm 2015 Tracker 2

Speaking of Haunt and Halloween, we have a full Knotts Scary Farm Haunt 2015 Tracker here on HorrorBuzz.com.  There is noticeable progress on a lot of the locations where mazes usually stand and plenty of pics to go along with it.

Boardwalk

In Boardwalk we see that Iron Reef is continuing to do well, with guest satisfaction surveys giving it high marks.  Sadly, the Riptide thrill ride is still in the exact same state that we saw it a few weeks ago.  Any chance we could see a brand new ride in that spot?

Sitting sad and stained with oil, Riptide languishes under the Boomerang Coaster.

This ride has serious maintenance issues and seems to be down more than it’s up. A new ride or even a little garden setting with seating would be preferable.  Your thoughts?

Fiesta Village

Here we visit Fiesta Village.

It would be nice to see the tackier bits removed.

Sriracha bottle anyone?

In conclusion

We close with a few nice parting shots from the park.

Camp Snoopy has some of the most beautiful settings in the park.

To end things on a high note we are delivering some berry good news.  We discovered that there is a whole new section of boysenberries that were planted under Silver Bullet.  This effectively doubles the amount of boysenberries back on the farm.

We are happy to report that Knotts Berry Farm is really hitting its stride under the current management team and it hasn’t looked this good in years.  It is a vibrant, energetic park that continues to show more and more life as a less expensive offering in the southern California market.
