Disneyland and the 60th celebration is in full swing at the resort. Nearly every corner of the entry plaza, Main Street U.S.A. and Buena Vista street make that fact abundantly clear with deep blue bunting studded with crystals. Today we share the latest happenings at the resort and take a leisurely stroll around Walt’s original park. While Soarin’ Over California, the wonderful Pain the Night Parade, Disneyland Forever Fireworks Spectacular, the new World of Color Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Disney, the Hatbox Ghost in the Haunted Mansion, the new abominable snowman in the Matterhorn Bobsleds have all made their debut, there is still a little bit of magic around the corner. Peter Pan’s Flight is set to open the beginning of next month with dazzling new effects throughout. While we wait for that we can enjoy a Disneyland tradition and its return to Main Street; the animated Main Street Windows! Yes, they are beautiful. We then stop by Disney California Adventure to check on the remaining bits of news there, including Luigi’s and the addition of a new movie preview in the Bug’s Life Theatre.
Main Street Windows
With the celebrations full steam ahead we slow down and enjoy another tradition that has finally returned to Disneyland. Since the 50th anniversary, the animated windows have sat nearly unchanged. However, all of that has now been made right again.

Most of the windows are still behind deep blue velvet curtains. Two windows, however, have been revealed and they are absolutely gorgeous.

nearby is the animated Peter Pan window which features a set change before your very eyes.

The first of the new animated windows on Main Street is a delight. Watch all the way through for the transformation.

Adventureland
We saunter over to Adventureland and look at what is happening there.

Jungle Cruise Upper Level Queue
The upper lever queue for the Jungle Cruise, above Tropical Imports, is finished.

Tarzan’s Treehouse
We now divert into Tarzan’s Treehouse. Some miss the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, (this writer included). Still, this attraction is surprisingly popular with kids and man does it wear them out. Any fans of this attraction out there? Let’s hear from you.

Yes, it’s cheesy. True, all of the figures are static. But it’s great that Disneyland still has its tree house.
New Orleans Square
Over in New Orleans Square, the flowers are in full bloom and there are new plantings near the New Orleans Square Train Station.

Frontierland and the Fantasmic FastPass System
One bit of news this week is the construction of permanent Fast Pass Machines for Fantasmic. It seems that it is here and here to stay.

Peter Pan’s Flight
Peter Pan’s Flight is still under wraps with the quintessential blue velvet curtains. From what we hear, the new nursery scene is quite nice and, no worries folks, the star field is safe and sound.

Blinged out Beauty
What would a Disneyland Update be without pictures of the castle?

Innoventions
Well, the future looks bleak at the moment folks. Innoventions is still behind walls and there are visible signs of deconstruction.

Marvel Shop
The Tomorrow Landing shop has now gone full Marvel.

Tomorrow is Another Day
With the sad flop that was Brad Birds Tomorrowland, both the movie preview and the exhibit have been closed.

It was a film with so much promise. I can’t be alone in wishing that it was a HUGE success so Disney would be inspired to update the land the movie was named after.

FastPasses for Buzz Again?
In another random bit of Fast Pass news, the ticket reservation system is now available again for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. One question: Why?

Lets take a run through Disney California Adventure.

A Bug’s Life Theatre to Preview Marvel’s Ant Man
In a strangely funny, but thematically horrific move, Disney plans to use another one of its movie-based attractions as a platform to promote a new film.

For a limited time, starting June 19, this special preview will give you an advance look at scenes from the film, presented in 3D with in-theater effects that can only be experienced at Disney Parks. And don’t miss the opportunity to check out the Ant-Man suit from the film, also on display at Bug’s Life Theater.

Luigi’s
While nothing is visible at the moment we could hear jackhammers and other tools working away.

Pics from the Park
We end the update with a few more pics from Disney California Adventure.

There you have it, the Disneyland Resort. Andy Castro will be back Monday with a brand new Dateline Disneyland, chock full of Disney goodness. We’ll see you again soon . . . In The Parks!
