The party kicks off at 6 a.m. Friday, running for a dazzling 24 hours — and there’s a lot going on! - Below is our guide to everything you need to know for this year’s Disneyland Diamond Celebration 24 Hour Party, including tips on early arrival, special dining, entertainment, and merchandise.

Disney California Adventure: 24 hours, 6 a.m. (5/22) — 6 a.m. (5/23)
Downtown Disney District: Special hours at the following locations

Theme Park Admission
Regular park admission used on May 22 is valid for the entire 24-hour event — (6 a.m. on May 22 through 6 a.m. on May 23). SoCal and SoCal Select Annual Passports are not valid for admission. All other levels of Annual Passport are valid. For more information on ticket prices, see our post on Disneyland’s recent ticket price increases.
Parking:
The Pumbaa parking lot will open for early arrivals at 10:00 p.m. the evening of May 21. Mickey and Friends Parking Structure will open at 4:00 a.m. and Toy Story Lot will open at 5:00 a.m. on May 22.
Costumes:
Unlike the last 24-hour event, Disney is not allowing costumes to be worn by adults. Disney Bounding, however, is permitted.
Early Arrival:
Lining Up: Guests can line up starting at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21.
Camping Out: Guests lining up can bring folding chairs, sleeping bags, tents, and personal items with them but these items must be returned to their cars or hotel rooms before 2 a.m. Guests will be allowed to leave and return to the line to go to the restroom or retrieve items from their cars, hotels, or lockers.
Security: No smoking, fighting, or loud music is allowed.
Moving In: At 2 a.m., all guests in line will be moved through Security checkpoints to the Disneyland Resort Esplanade. Guests in line will receive a commemorative keepsake, while supplies last.
Celebration Kick-Off: Guests starting their day at Disneyland will be escorted onto Main Street, U.S.A. at 4 a.m. to prepare for an opening celebration moment that will take place at 6 a.m. Guests going to Disney California Adventure will be escorted onto Buena Vista Street at 5:30 a.m., with an opening celebration moment at 6 a.m.

- For its 60th Anniversary, Disneyland is giving away birthday gifts to celebrate. Starting on May 22, Disneyland will be giving away special gifts every day to guests that text-to-win. Gifts include Cinderella glass slippers, a night in the Disneyland Dream Suite, a private excursion and dinner in Disneyland, and of course, diamonds. In order to win, you must be present on Disneyland Resort premises, but not necessarily inside a theme park as theme park admission is not required to win. For more information, click here.

- With dazzling new parades, breathtaking new nighttime spectaculars, updates to favorite musical groups, and more, Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration will dazzle you with plenty of debuts of great new entertainment throughout the 24 hour party. And if all of the spectacular new entertainment wasn’t enough, there’s a ton of special 24 hour party-exclusive entertainment that will keep you entertained all day and all night!

This fresh take on the classic Main Street Electrical Parade lights up Disneyland’s parade route with over 1.5 million individually controlled lights, nearly all of which are LED. In the parade, Mickey Mouse uses his imagination to harness the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust to “Paint the Night.” This new parade features special appearances by Mickey’s pals and beloved characters from tales such as “Monsters, Inc.,” “Cars,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Toy Story” and “Frozen.”

Disneyland | 9:30 p.m.
The skies above Disneyland come alive like never before with an all-new fireworks spectacular that envelops guests with sparkling pyrotechnics, immersive projections, and dazzling special effects. “Disneyland Forever” transports guests into the worlds of beloved Disney and Pixar films, including a dance with King Louie from the “The Jungle Book” and a flight over London with characters from “Peter Pan.” Two original songs also energize the show: the theme “Live the Magic,” and the inspiring new closing song “Kiss Goodnight,” written by Disney Legend Richard M. Sherman.”
Although “Disneyland Forever” can be viewed throughout Disneyland, the best viewing areas are along Main Street, U.S.A.; along the Rivers of America; and in Small World Promenade.

- The after-dark “Mad T Party” returns featuring sparkling new decor, interactive fun, dancing and delectable food and drink. Enjoy live music from the Mad T Party Band, hit tunes with the White Rabbit DJ, play interactive games, catch a performance by the Hottest Deck in Town dance crew, or snap some photos at a new location that combines the spirit of the Mad T Party with a tribute to Disney’s past.
Disneyland | Performances 1:05 p.m. — 5:00 a.m.
- The Dapper Dans are expanding their repertoire of barbershop favorites with a festive new tune – actually a little-known, classic song by Disney Legend Richard M. Sherman, made new for the park’s 60th anniversary. Guests are encouraged to join in a new sing-along with the Dapper Dans.
Disneyland | Disneyland Band Performances 10:30 a.m. — 4:45 p.m.
- You’re invited to join the Disneyland Band and Disney characters in their sparkling Diamond Celebration costumes. The cavalcade in Town Square with a special Diamond Sing-Along.

- The Red Car Trolley News Boys and Mickey Mouse arrive on Buena Vista Street singing a new tune — an original song that invites us to step inside Mickey’s vivid imagination and pay tribute to Walt Disney!

| Dazzling Attraction Enhancements |
- In addition to spectacular new entertainment, Disney Imagineers have worked their magic on enhancing classic attractions and re-imagining areas of the park. Several newly-enhanced offerings are open now, including the re-themed Grizzly Peak Airfield in Disney California Adventure and the return of the Hat Box Ghost in Disneyland. Opening as part of Friday’s 24 hour event, the Abominable Snowman will unleash his fury at the Matterhorn like never before! And coming later this year, new magic at Peter Pan’s Flight and at Luigi’s in Cars Land.
Disneyland | New Orleans Square | Now Open
- The Hatbox Ghost appeared in the Haunted Mansion for a short time around the opening of the attraction in 1969. Although he was only in the mansion for a brief time, he became a legendary figure in Disneyland history and now — he’s back!
Disneyland | Fantasyland | Open May 22
- The Matterhorn’s Abominable Snowman is now more exciting and ferocious than ever, appearing as you’ve never seen him before! A new scene will reveal some lost treasure the Snowman has been hoarding inside the mountain.

Disneyland | Fantasyland | July 2015
- New special effects will make this classic sparkle with new life. In a reimagined nursery scene, the Darling children have discovered the magic of flight as Tinker Bell sprinkles them with Pixie Dust. Marvel at moonlit London Town and Never Land will glow in beautiful new ways.
Disneyland | Main Street, U.S.A. | First phase opens May 22
Since the early 1960s, scenes from Disney animated classics have been featured in the windows of the Emporium at Disneyland. This year, these classic windows will be updated for the Disneyland Diamond Celebration with new, exciting technology and effects showcasing scenes from film favorites including “Peter Pan,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Frozen” and more! The six new windows will open in three phases, with two in May, two in July and the final two in August.
Disney California Adventure | Grizzly Peak | Now Open
- Lush pine trees, landscaping and new theming transports you to California’s High Sierras in the newly-expanded Grizzly Peak. Soarin’ Over California is also back with updates to its screen and projection system, bringing a visually enhanced experience
Disney California Adventure | Cars Land | Winter 2015
- Now under construction, Luigi’s Festival of the Dance will replace Luigi’s Flying Tires in Cars Land, taking guests on a free-moving dance with Luigi and his extended family!
