The new hit MiceChat column, “You’ve Got To Be Kidding,” returns today. As the name implies, this column is parody. Allow yourself the opportunity to have a little fun . . .

Let me start with a confession:  I really liked Frozen.   I got to see a preview at the El Capitan and knew it had the potential to be a classic.  But, seriously, how much Frozen can we take?

Apparently, the suits think the amount we can take is a whole lot.  And, yes, I saw that they are beginning to pull back on the Disneyland/Frozen synergies.  But you know as well as I do that all it takes is one little nudge and it will all come roaring back like a soul-crushing avalanche.

So, with that in mind, let us all sing it together:  Really, let it go already.

The bright spotlights stab across the dark night
Celebration’s in the air
But it’s not a Mad T Party
And the Tron Grid disappeared.

There’s caterwauling where the fallen Muppets played
And a trading post full of stuff for sale.

Themed art and food, they’re everywhere
There’s a snowflake that’s plopped onto the square
Olaf replaced the millionaire
Should we be scared?

Let it go, let it go
Can’t take all this ice and snow
Let it go, let it go
Stop the madness, slam the door!

I don’t care
What the fans may say
Let the suits rage on!
The cold kind of bothers me anyway.

It’s funny how promotions
Get quickly out of hand
And a simple meet and greeting
Takes over Norway’s land.

It’s time to bring this to an end
To stop before they strike again
To say, “No more! No need for greed!”
Break free!

Let it go, let it go
I agree with the hue and cry
Let it go, let it go
This trend has got to die!

Take a stand
And stop today
Let the suits rage on!

The powers scurry, do they sense that they went wrong?
The walls are going up and Freeze the Night is coming down.
But one fear crystallizes; what might be in store?
An Anna shrouded ghost?
An Elsa Matterhorn?

Let it go, let it go
And we’ll rise and break out in song
Let it go, let it go
Just make it all be gone!

Take a stand
Let it melt away
Let the suits rage on!
That snowman really bothered me anyway.

Mike Jacka
Mike lives in Phoenix, Arizona and has two claims to fame. The first is that he was born the day Disneyland opened. So, yes, he is old. The second is that he is the funniest internal auditor in the profession of internal auditing. Yes, a very low bar. Yes, this is akin to being the sanest person in the asylum. So why not combine those two great achievements? Why not combine that love for Disneyland with a slightly offbeat sense of humor? I guess we'll all find out.
