Who’s ready for the holidays? We are! Well, let’s get through Halloween Horror Nights first, right? It’s only August but Universal Orlando has already announced their lineup of holiday festivities for 2022… But there’s a method to that madness; planning a vacation takes time and effort. The merriments kick off November 12th, running daily through January 1st, 2023. Epic festivities are in store for the entire resort, featuring favorite characters, scrumptious holiday treats, and both traditional and twisted holiday experiences that can only be found at Universal Orlando. Let’s take a break from the heat and see what’s in store for the winter season!
Universal Studios Florida Holidays
As Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s fills the streets of Universal Studios Florida, see Santa Claus and your favorite characters from Despicable Me, Minions, Shrek, and Madagascar alongside larger-than-life balloons, colorful holiday floats and hundreds of festive performers. The parade’s finale is complete with the lighting of the park’s dazzling 80-foot Christmas Tree.
The best-selling holiday musical artist of all time, Mannheim Steamroller, returns to Universal Studios Florida to fill the air with the iconic sounds of the season with live performances on December 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th.
While it has yet to be announced for 2022, traditionally, there is a Holiday Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida. This is a limited-time pop-up shop with four fully-themed rooms to shop for the perfect holiday gift and enjoy some seasonal treats.
Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Both Hogsmeade at Universal Studios Florida and Diagon Alley in Islands of Adventure will transform into wizarding wonderlands, complete with themed decorations, garlands, and lights.
Special holiday-themed performances from the Frog Choir will take place in Hogsmeade, along with Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees in Diagon Alley.
And once night falls in Hogsmeade, take in the sparkling holiday spirit and Christmas moments inspired by the beloved Harry Potter stories in The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle projection show at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
And don’t forget your hot butterbeer!
Holidays at Islands of Adventure
The spirit of Grinchmas comes to life with the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, a live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s holiday classic starring the mischief-maker himself.
The celebration continues throughout Seuss Landing, which will be adorned in whimsical décor, including oversized candy canes, twisting Christmas trees, tinsel wreaths and ornaments. Keep an eye out for the merry Whos from Who-ville as they prepare for their favorite holiday in the land – and even meet the Grinch (who is not so scary in person) for a special photo opportunity.
What Else is Coming to Universal for the Holidays?
Access to Universal Orlando’s Holidays celebration is included with regular admission to the theme parks. Additional details about holiday-themed merchandise, food and beverage offerings, and character encounters coming to Universal Orlando Resort will be revealed at a later date.
