Walt Disney World’s upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is getting ready to take guests on 2-night voyages beginning March 1st, 2022.
While the first month of adventures are currently fully booked (beginning March 1st), as guests near their 90-day cancellation window to receive a full refund, we start to see availability pop up again in the previously solidly booked experience. If you had tried to get a reservation and couldn’t, check again. At this time, Galactic Starcruiser bookings are available through September 30th, 2022.
Here’s everything you need to know about the immersive experience, the itinerary, and what’s included for the eye-popping price of the Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser at Walt Disney World. Take a look and then let us know in the comments if the experience matches the price…
The Star Wars Starcruiser Experience
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is not a traditional hotel stay. It is an interactive 2-day theater experience inside a hotel that is made to look like a Star Wars starcruiser. Like a cruise ship, there is an itinerary, activities, and even a shore excursion. A 2-night experience with a mix of live immersive theater in a themed environment with real-life role-playing. New and familiar Star Wars characters will be aboard, and guests will seek alliances for help completing secret missions. In addition to activities on the ship, guests will also make an excursion to Batuu (Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) on the 2nd day of their journey.

The Journey
Guests check-in for their experience at the terminal in Walt Disney World (near Disney’s Hollywood Studios). They will then board a launch pod that will take them to the Starcruiser called the Halcyon.
The Halcyon is intended to look like a luxury galactic starcruiser from the Chandrila Star Line, in which you will voyage into the far reaches of the galaxy.
The Galactic Starcruiser’s story takes place between the last two Star Wars films, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker (right around the same time as Galaxy’s Edge). According to a recent story development from Disney, the Halcyon is a much older ship that has been restored to its former glory; the way it’s meant to be seen. In celebration of the anniversary of the “recently refurbished” ship, the Halcyon will once again follow the same journey its original passengers embarked on centuries ago.
Will you join the Resistance or the First Order? Are you a scoundrel? And apparently, there’s a love story onboard…
Lucasfilm’s Matt Martin shares more of the Galactic Starcruiser’s story with Imagineering:
The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Itinerary
The sample itinerary includes activities including Sabacc Lessons, Muster, Outer Rim Regalia, Droid Racing, and “Story Moments”. Some of the story moments include hiding Resistance stowaways and stealing a ship from the First Order. Planet excursions to Batuu look to be scheduled to start before park openings but continue well into park hours with lunch at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.
Here’s a description of a sample 2 night adventure on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. We’re curious what your thoughts are on this schedule:

The Standard Cabin offers bunk beds and sleeps up to 5 people.
The Galaxy Class Suite is a one-bedroom suite with a seating area that sleeps up to 4 people.
The Grand Captain Suite has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 8 people.
All rooms have at least one window out into space, where you can see planets, ships, and all sorts of activity.
Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Dining
The dining experiences on the Halycon offer unique entertainment and Star Wars-style cuisine.
Not only will you find some of your favorites from home, but also galactic options such as Bubo Wamba Family Farms blue milk.
UPCHARGE: Guests will have the opportunity to eat at the Captain Table, for an additional fee.
There’s even a bar aboard.
Star Wars Costumes and Attire
We mentioned role-playing, which of course means wearing your galactic attire. While coming in character is encouraged, you are welcome to wear your earthly garb as well.
But you can’t wear just anything you want. Disney has rules:
-
- Costumes that may distract from the experience of other Guests are not permitted.
- All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but they may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
- Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent.
- Costumes may not contain any props or accessories that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
- Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
- Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
- Acceptable accessories include transparent wings, plastic lightsabers, toy swords and tutus. Costume headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
- Guests ages 13 and under may wear some costume masks; masks may not cover the entire face and must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully seen.
- Costume masks of any kind may not be worn by Guests ages 14 and older.
New themed apparel is available on shopDisney.com, these are exclusively for sale to those with a qualifying Galactic Starcruiser reservation within the next 60 days.
While dressing up is optional throughout your voyage, most of these pieces are easy capes or tunics to wear over your regular clothes if you don’t have a full-on costume already. Prices range between $49.99 and $149.99 for kid and adult apparel.
The High Price of Adventure
Pricing for the 2-nights ranges from $4,809 for 2 guests to $5,999 for 3 adults with 1 child. Included in the price is the 2-night stay in a cabin or suite; food and beverages on the Starcruiser (excludes alcoholic and specialty beverages), a quick service meal at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (or other Hollywood Studios locations), 1-day admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, valet parking, and an exclusive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser databand (otherwise known as a MagicBand).
Note the sample pricing above is for August 20 – September 17, 2022. The earlier voyages are likely to be set at a premium pricing. And with only 100 cabins and suites, this might be an experience that is hard to come by, at least at first.
But it does look like some guests have been canceling prior to making their final payments.
