First Look into the New Moana Rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Last year, Disney announced the Polynesian Village Resort would receive some major updates, including Moana-themed guest rooms and a new monorail station. Just this week, most of the resort has reopened, and we got a peek into some of the new Moana-inspired rooms! 

All of the Poly’s standard guest rooms have received the Moana of Montunui treatment, filled with new furniture, flooring, and lighting, finished with tropical motifs bursting with color, natural textures, and geometric shapes traditionally found on Polynesian tattoos. In true Disney resort fashion, the hallway carpeting sets the theme:

The details are just incredible! Makes us want to book a beachy getaway ASAP.

Over in the Tonga building, Club Level Suites have also received a few splashes of Moana:

Of course, while you’re visiting the Poly, don’t forget to pick up a Dole Whip… with or without rum!

Construction is still going strong at the front of the resort, with monorail service still on hold. However, check-in has moved back to the main building. We can’t wait to see the new resort entry!

And let’s all thank the tiki gods… Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto has reopened! Open from 3PM to midnight daily, it’s time to order that Nautilus! (Capacity fills up quick. You’ll want to queue up well before 3PM to join the waitlist, and be prepared to possibly wait a few hours!)

The outdoor Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace has also reopened, serving the same food and beverage menu as inside. There’s usually much less of a wait here!
