If you’re a Disneyland or Walt Disney World annual passholder, you’re no longer on the hook for your monthly payments for now. Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World just updated their Travel Information page to reflect changes in its policies during the resort closure. Both resort’s pages look like this:

, Disneyland and Walt Disney World Halt Annual Passport Monthly Payments

Annual Pass Changes

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s changing because of this announcement:

If you’ve already paid in full:

  • You’ll automatically get an extension of the length of the closure.
  • Alternatively, passholders can request a partial refund instead of an extension at a later date.

If you’re on the monthly payment plan:

  • Monthly payments are waived for the length of the closure.
  • Payments made between March 14-April 4 will be refunded.
  • Passports will not be automatically extended.
  • Alternatively, passholders can choose to extend their passports the length of the closure and pay for the extra time at a later date.

The MiceTube Crew Discusses the News

Dusty, Chloé and Logan discuss annual pass changes and cast member furloughs in this episode of MiceTube Live:

Let’s Hear From You

We had called for exactly this sort of change to the program in our Disneyland Resort Update this past Monday and are thrilled to see the resort making such a simple, but sensitive, change to the program during the shutdown. This change in policy will be great for those families who may not be in a good position to make the monthly payments on their passes during this hard time. It’s important to note that Disney doesn’t have to do ANYTHING for Passholders. Their terms and conditions clearly state they aren’t responsible for park closures and that participants must pay as contractually obligated. So we are extra thankful that the park is taking the high ground for it’s most loyal customers.

What do you think? Is this new policy going to help you? Are you going to extend your pass? Let us know in the comments below. This is also a great spot for you to give thanks if you’d like to let the parks know you appreciate this gesture.
