Fancy yourself the creative type? Like to add splashes of color to everyday life? Then the Disney Ink & Paint Collection, now available at Disneyland, is right up your alley. With artwork that includes lesser-seen characters, many of these items have a DIY element to them.

Roll up those sleeves, pick up that easel, and let’s have a look at the goods!

Apparel and Accessories

The first item we’ll look at is one that I think many people will be excited about; it’s a new Spirit Jersey. But rather than being just a simple color or pattern, this one is covered with sketches of beloved Disney characters. I love how the characters are partially a black and white sketch with a single area of full color.

Next up is the 12 Days of Socks gift box. You may remember seeing one of these during this past holiday season. The set includes 12 different pairs of socks, often in several styles, with different designs on each pair.

This backpack is probably my favorite piece in the entire collection. It comes with markers for you to color the characters in but I think it would also make a great medium for character signatures at the Parks.

This large tote has art with a colorful Sorcerer Mickey and many other character sketches in the background.

You can accessorize either the backpack or tote with this artist palette keychain, with little Hidden Mickeys in the paint.

Kitchenware

If you’ve ever had a fantastic meal, then you can understand that cooking is an art. It makes perfect sense that a portion of the collection are supplies for the kitchen or dinner table. Here we see kitchen towels with the same print as the Spirit Jersey from earlier.

Every place at the table needs its own napkin and placemat and the Disney Ink & Paint Collection has that covered, too. The napkin set contains eight napkins, each in a different (bright) color with a character embroidered on it. And the placemats have Sleeping Beauty Castle on them.

Ceramic plates and bowls, each sets of four, are also available. The plates have one large image on each piece. However, the bowls use many of the characters to create a pattern on the inside of each one.

The plates contain art of either the Penguins from Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Cinderella and Prince Charming, or Sleeping Beauty’s Three Good Fairies.

There is also a larger bowl that has a design similar to those in the bowl set. Match it with the large plate decorated with black and white artwork to serve a special meal.

This Magnetic Toothpick Holder is a great way to keep your toothpicks nice and tidy. It includes six toothpick holders that attach to the metal palette via magnets. This would be perfect to set out for appetizers; maybe a different food selection for every color?

Decor

Frasier Crane once said, “Decor is, after all, a fluid art.” And this trio of artsy magnets with accompanying easel help prove that statement true. Display one of the the magnets on the teeny easel and keep the other two as functioning magnets on your fridge. Then, cycle through the art periodically to refresh the look of your desk or wherever you choose to display it.

This Artist’s Palette magnet (sold separately) would serve as fitting companion to the two fridge-bound magnets.

There is also a quartet of ornaments, each sold separately. Featured on these miniature canvases are Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia, Mr. Toad from The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Pongo and Perdita from 101 Dalmatians, and Donald Duck, José Carioca, and Panchito Pistoles from The Three Caballeros. The notes about the different hues used in each design are a delightful detail.

Arts and Crafts

With a collection called Disney Ink & Paint, it would be a crime to leave out merchandise that inspires guests to create art of their own. Here we see a journal and a fancy Executive Pen. It is interesting to note that the artwork on the journal is completely colored in, compared to the splashes of color seen on the rest of the collection.

Here is a closer look at the artwork that wraps around the Executive Pen.

I adore this pencil case. Designed to resemble a tube of paint, it even has a squirt of “paint” coming out the end. And did you catch the nod to Mickey Mouse on the label? The color number is 1928, the year that Mickey Mouse was created.

The thing that looks sort of like a lunch box is actually full of art supplies!

Here is what is included in that box of art supplies.

These wooden model kits of Pinocchio and Dumbo (you’ll catch the Sorcerer Mickey kit two photos up) can be colored with the included paint supplies.

Inside this paint canister is a Sorcerer Mickey plush. There are five possible designs, which you can see below, and you don’t know which one you get until you open it. Which is your favorite? I personally like the blue one.
