Collectors of anime and manga figures are no doubt familiar with Good Smile Company. The Japanese company has several different lines of static and posable figures, most famously their stylized Nendoroids. But these figures don’t just depict Japanese characters. In fact, there is a whole collection just for familiar friends from Disney and Pixar.

Good Smile Company’s first Disney figure was a figma Elsa from Frozen way back in 2016. The collection now includes classic characters, princesses, and more, and we are going to take a look at what is currently available.

Before we get this tour underway, here is a brief lesson on Nendoroids. They are “chibi”- style posable figures that come with accessories and interchangeable parts. Some characters also have a “DX version,” which is the figure set with even more parts than the original. Finally, figures are only available for a short period and from very specific vendors (counterfeits are an issue).

Nendoroids of Mickey

Let’s start off with Nendoroid Mickey Mouse, released in September 2018. This figure was notable because it was the 100th Nendoroid design. Mickey comes equipped with a miniature film set, which includes a director’s chair, a clapper, a megaphone, and, of course, a camera.

Next up is Nendoroid Mickey Mouse: 1928 version, released in May 2019. This figure has two different versions, a color one and a black and white one. Whichever version you choose will come with a smiling expression as well as a whistling one, a ship’s wheel, plus long and short arm parts (to allow for more variety in poses).

Perhaps my favorite of the various Nendoroid Mickeys is King Mickey from Square-Enix’s Kingdom Hearts video game series. His Majesty comes with two face plates and four different pairs of interchangeable eye parts, not to mention his keyblade (couldn’t forget that!).

Nendoroids of Classic Disney Characters

The Nendoroid Winnie the Pooh and Piglet set, released in May 2019, is next. Pooh is articulated and also comes with an interchangeable “puzzled” facial expression, a note from Christopher Robin, his favorite honey pot, and a red balloon. But that is not all. The silly old bear has a magnet in his lower half that you can detach and stick to surfaces along the honey ring accessory. Unfortunately, Piglet is a static figure.

What’s this? Why, it’s Nendoroid Jack Skellington, released in May 2019. It is really impressive that Good Smile Company managed to capture Jack’s lithe form while still maintaining the Nendoroid proportions. The Pumpkin King is joined by his ghost dog, Zero. He comes with a jack-o-lantern as well as a present and Santa cap (complete with beard).

And here we have Nendoroid Genie, released in July 2019. The magical jokester has parts for both a wispy bottom or legs, along with a hat (for the dance numbers) and his lamp.

Nendoroid Jasmine is not available just yet (although you can preorder her). The princess of Agrabah releases in February 2020. And when she ships, she will come with a jasmine flower, a hair accessory (for her, not you – sorry), an apple, and a clear standee with a picture of her loyal tiger, Rajah, on it.

Nendoroids of Pixar Characters

Nendoroid Sulley, released in July 2018, is pretty basic in terms of add-ons. In fact, the Standard Version doesn’t have any at all! I guess that is why they made a DX Version. That one comes with extra face plates as well as a clipboard for him to hold and Boo’s repaired door.

Like his good buddy Sulley, Mike has both a Standard and a DX version. Both were released October 2018. No matter what version you choose, Mike is joined by Boo, who is, thankfully, also articulated. Select the DX version and you will also find Mike’s work helmet and the arm and leg parts needed to recreate that scene where the poor guy sprays himself in his eye. Also included in the DX version, is another door for Boo. Unlike the one in Sulley’s DX version, this door is the version from before Boo’s door was destroyed.

Nendoroid Woody, released in July 2019, has his Standard and DX versions. One of the interesting things about this one is that Woody is taller than most Nendoroids so that he is to-scale with Nendoroid Buzz. The Standard version, similar to Sulley, is just the figure. As for the DX version, well, it’s still mighty slim pickings. That version includes a “crossed arms” parts, two face plates, and two additional pairs of eye part.

Finally, we get to Nendoroid Buzz, released in July 2019. As you probably guessed, this dude also has a Standard and a DX version. The Standard version is, once again, just the figure. The DX version is packaged with a special arm part to make it look like Buzz is preparing to fire his laser plus a “serious” facial expression and two additional pairs of eye parts. Lastly, the DX version also includes a special stand that you can use for Buzz and Woody, if you have him, to depict the “Falling in Style” scene.
