Disneyland’s Festival of Holidays Brings Eats and Entertainment Treats

The holiday announcements continue as Disneyland unveils two new live-entertainment experiences that are coming to Festival of Holidays this weekend! These jolly new experiences aim to celebrate the diverse SoCal landscape and will last until the New Year! AND, because we know you like food as much as we do, Disney has finally revealed the food and beverages which will be featured in this year’s event.  We’ll unwrap all the holiday treats below . . .

Mickey’s Happy Holidays

The first new entertainment experience is called “Mickey’s Happy Holidays” and will involve music, dancing, and the most popular Disney characters all rocking out to upbeat tunes. This event will take place twice a day at Carthay Circle and Paradise Park. The famous Toy Drummers will also be joining the party to help keep the beat going. This event should appeal to all ages and will be a welcome addition to this year’s Festival of Holidays.

Holiday Sunset Concerts

A new rock band called The Suffragettes will be joining the “Holiday Sunset Concerts” this year. The Suffragettes will play a wide variety of modern-day hits from today’s most popular artists. The Suffragettes will not be the only band performing this year, Disney has confirmed bands Blue13, Mostly Kosher, The Sound, and Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas, among others, will be returning to the festival.

In addition to the new entertainment being added, returning favorites include, Blue13 Dance Company, Mostly Kosher, the Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas. We’ll also enjoy the antics of the Holiday Toy Drummers, the amazing ¡Viva Navidad! (with The Three Caballeros), and let’s not forget Santa (who will be setting up shop in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail).

And at the end of every night, World of Color: Season of Light will return after a year off (due to technical difficulty). We think the holiday version is better than the classic version of the show. Let us know what you think.

We are encouraged to see Disney continuing to add new experiences for guests as the Festival of Holidays becomes increasingly popular with guests. Hopefully, these new additions will help make this year’s holiday season at the Disneyland Resort extra cheery.

Note the new plant-based options above. That seems to be a welcome new trend at Disney as many of us look toward healthier fare but still want something tasty. But that’s not going to stop me from eating that fried turkey slider!
