Welcome to the Dateline Disney World Not-So-Scary Update!
We’re reaching the end of August, which means it’s time to start celebrating Halloween. Well, at least, that’s how it works out in Disney World. Mickey’s Halloween Party started earlier than ever this year, so for this update, we’re checking it out! We’ve got lots to see here, so let’s get started.

Cinderella Castle Forecourt
The castle forecourt area is decked out with pumpkins and the statues are all dressed in costume!
Madam Carlotta!
This particular inhabitant of the Haunted Mansion only makes herself visible during Mickey’s Halloween Party, and she is looking as glamorous as ever.
Madame Carlotta hangs out in front of the Haunted Mansion. Sometimes, she’s joined by Butler Broom.
Special Haunted Mansion sippers and popcorn buckets are available this year.
And there are photo ops around every corner.
Cinderella Castle and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular!
Cinderella Castle sure does seem ominous with this lighting. It’s the perfect backdrop for a little Halloween magic, don’t you think?
Well, you’re in luck because the Sanderson Sisters are back! They’re center stage with the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular.
Is this on your “must-do” list for your Halloween Party?
Character Meet and Greets and Photo Ops!
Part of the charm of Mickey’s Halloween Party is the abundance of characters all over the place. This is the perfect opportunity to snag a photo for Instagram or spend some quality time with your favorite Disney pals.
The Mad Tea Party has a special lighting package for the party.
The lights are completely off inside Space Mountain again this year on party nights.
You can find some fun character meet and greets in Storybook Circus. I think Donald’s jack-o’-lantern costume is adorable.
Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way
For $99.00, you can enjoy Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way at Tony’s on Main Street. You get reserved seating for Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade and you get to rub elbows with Ms. De Vil.
There is beer and wine available!
You can snack on sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres, including spinach dip with ciabatta crostini and Halloween-themed flatbreads.
The 101 Dalmation-themed desserts include chocolate-dipped strawberries, cheesecake and mini cannolis, Kanine Krunchy cake and Mini De Vil brownies.
Do you think the $99.00 upcharge is worth it for Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way?
Mickey’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
The fireworks spectacular is all-new for this year.
Jack Skellington is the host, and there is a large puppet on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle.
So many perimeter bursts in this new show. It sure does make for some pretty photos.
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade!
And of course, Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is back again, and with some new additions!
The bride from the Haunted Mansion makes her debut this year.
The Incredibles have new floats.
There’s also a new float with Green Alien Men and Buzz Lightyear!
Here’s a video of highlights from the parade as well:
What a whirlwind! It’s the earliest Halloween season we’ve seen at Walt Disney World, but the party was crowded all night. Will you be attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year?
Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Pass
Can’t get enough of the Halloween Party? There’s a new pass this year for the dedicated Party fans. For $299 plus tax, you can visit Mickey’s Halloween up to 35 times. This pass is supposedly in limited quantity, and only good for select nights. Personally, I’d love to watch the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular every night if I could.
What is your favorite part of Mickey’s Halloween Party? What do you think about the new ‘season’ pass Disney introduced this year? Would you go to as many parties as you’d like?
